A Christian Church sits atop a hill in East-Central Kansas near the town of Elmdale and next to the Stoehr Cemetery. This church was in operation in these Flint Hills from 1897 to 1999.

Thanks, John. Of note...I have driven past this location for years and have never noticed the church! (It sits about 1 mile off the highway). There are quite a few trees lower on the hill that block the view when the leaves are out. Now that things are barren I just had to swivel my head and use my eyes to see this.

I love the starkness at times too. There are some trees, but if you get on top of a ridge like this at the right angle you can get some really interesting shots.
