Description
This ancient Lutheran cemetery near Dubuque, Kansas was established in 1885. I believe it was also known as the Immanuel Cemetery in the past. The church and school house in the background serve as pasture land for the herd of cows, whom I am sure appreciate the shade given by the structures in the otherwise treeless landscape.
Update Sept 2023: Well, it has been 20 months or so since my last stop here and things have changed significantly. At some point the roof and about half of the walls of this old church have collapsed and the rest is barley still standing it seems. Although the adjacent wooden school house still appears fairly strong, there will no longer be any images captured like this one.

Christopher this is great you can just see the pride those people had in their community and now it is all gone.
Christopher McKenzie replied:
Thanks, Garrett. It must have been quite a place when it was first built and used for the first time.
