Shared Emergence Canvas Print

A Cicada exuvia (exoskeleton) on the underside of some Lilies in my Kansas yard...as if the insect and the plant had emerged from the earth together and began reaching for the sky simultaneously.
The piece symbolizes the healthy & rapid growth of the Lilies as well as the new freedom of the released Cicada after it's many long, dark days spent underground.

As a child I received my love of art from my mother who I watched write poetry, paint with pastels and draw with pencils and charcoal. I followed her by painting with Acrylics and drawing some myself as I went through my teenage years, and I also had a couple of inspiring art teachers in middle school. As an adult I was able to afford a camera and I transitioned to photography. I am based in the Midwest, in a suburb of Kansas City, and although I capture time with my camera primarily as a hobby I take it very seriously.
