Artist's Description
An old farmhouse just Northeast of Marquette, Kansas sits alone as the weather slowly decays the wooden structure that must have been built very solidly to withstand the storms and winds of the prairie. The frigid wind was blowing about 35mph at the time of this photo. The isolation of such a location must have felt at times like being on another planet.
About Christopher McKenzie
As a child I received my love of art from my mother who I watched write poetry, paint with pastels and draw with pencils and charcoal. I followed her by painting with Acrylics and drawing some myself as I went through my teenage years, and I also had a couple of inspiring art teachers in middle school. As an adult I was able to afford a camera and I transitioned to photography. I am based in the Midwest, in a suburb of Kansas City, and although I capture time with my camera primarily as a hobby I take it very seriously. Though most of my work comes from close to home I have also captured quite a few images in other parts of the US from my travels.
