Artist's Description
This is an image of the upper iron work of the 1932 MKT lift bridge over the Missouri River at Boonville, Missouri.
The bridge was last used in 1986 and has recently had a $900,000 dollar resurrection to open a walkway on the South 1/3 of the bridge as part of the Katy Trail State Park.
Next, in two more phases of planned work the rest of the old 408' rail lift bridge will also be rebuilt (bringing the estimated total cost to $3.4 Million) to complete the trail walkway across the Missouri River.
