These wheat fields convey peace and serenity.

I happened to be driving by on the way from a sunrise shoot and I had to stop. The vastness and perfection of the wheat was hard to ignore.

With the sun just above the horizon, and wispy clouds in the morning sky, I wasn’t able to ignore the scene. I was on a 2 lane country road with not much room to pull over. A fairly deep ditch surrounded the field, and a lone, long driveway was nearby. I opted for the driveway. This was in the rural Southern United States, so I was taking my chances parking in an unknown driveway!

However I wasn’t far from my car at any time. I was just across the road, admiring this beautiful field in the early dawn light. It didn’t take me long to get what I wanted (perhaps spurred along by the fact that I might be questioned by the homeowners - I abhor confrontation) and I was soon on my way.

I’d only taken 5 shots, and from those, I was able to get down to just this one. Just the wheat, the sunrise, and a wonderful sky. It brings a smile to my face whenever I see it.
