Artist's Description
Just west of Lexington, Missouri this is a shot of the old Peckerwood Club before it closed for good.
The last time I was inside (probably early 1990's) I had fried chicken gizzards for a mid-day snack. The next time I drove past it was closed & the building was still here but the excellent sign was long gone.
Back in the day this place used to sport a Juke Box, sometimes live music and lot's of dancing.
Supposedly it had more than a few times had meetings inside that included gangsters working out plans of escape or plotting crime.
Update: Various folks have talked of resurrecting the Peckerwood Club, and the sign that was removed from the rooftop now sits inside the Spotted Pig Bar and Grill on Franklin Ave. in Lexington, MO.

As a child I received my love of art from my mother who I watched write poetry, paint with pastels and draw with pencils and charcoal. I followed her by painting with Acrylics and drawing some myself as I went through my teenage years, and I also had a couple of inspiring art teachers in middle school. As an adult I was able to afford a camera and I transitioned to photography. I am based in the Midwest, in a suburb of Kansas City, and although I capture time with my camera primarily as a hobby I take it very seriously.
