Description
Near Edgerton, Kansas one of the Visitors tests the dimensions of an abandoned bird nest while the other three observe. This little tree happens t
o be growing in the middle of a large wagon rut that is left over from the Sante Fe Trail which through this spot from 1822 to 1872.
The Ivan L. Boyd Memorial Prairie Preserve contains several of these swales that were cut in the earth when so many pioneers passed through these praries on there way West.
