Paul, love this composition, well balanced and good leading lines. Great job!

Thank you, sir. Probably one of my better results from years of 'learning to see' and enforcement of compositional balance.

Great shot!

Thanks, Paul. I recently noticed the tree has since died and it falling apart, and the barn has half collapsed too.

Artist's Description

A rural Kansas road that runs past on old barn near the Flint Hills.
In the fall of 2022 I found the tree has since died and is falling apart, and the barn has half collapsed in on itself.
Update Spring 2023: On my last site visit a few months ago it was clear that the end was near. The tree had apparently died and at the same time the barn had began to fall apart from age and neglect. Now as I stand here the barn and smaller trees have been razed with nary a trace it ever existed and all that remains of the gigantic old tree is a partial burned stump.
I am thankful that I was able to capture this image before the oasis was absorbed into the bean field.

I followed her by painting with Acrylics and drawing some myself as I went through my teenage years, and I also had a couple of inspiring art teachers in middle school. As an adult I was able to afford a camera and I transitioned to photography. I am based in the Midwest, in a suburb of Kansas City, and although I capture time with my camera primarily as a hobby I take it very seriously. Though most of my work comes from close to home I have also captured quite a few images in other parts of the US from my travels. There are artists, and then there are folks who have a keen eye for art and are able to...
