As a child I received my love of art from my mother who I watched write poetry, paint with pastels and draw with pencils and charcoal. I followed her by painting with Acrylics and drawing some myself as I went through my teenage years, and I also had a couple of inspiring art teachers in middle school. As an adult I was able to afford a camera and I transitioned to photography. I am based in the Midwest, in a suburb of Kansas City, and although I capture time with my camera primarily as a hobby I take it very seriously. Though most of my work comes from close to home I have also captured quite a few images in other parts of the US from my travels. There are artists, and then there are folks who have a keen eye for art and are able to...

Awesome capture!!
Christopher McKenzie replied:
Thank you.

This photograph evokes such emotion; one of happiness...children laughing and having fun swinging on the swings and one of sadness; the day the swings no longer have children laughing and playing. Fantastic!
Christopher McKenzie replied:
I agree...it makes me feel that way every time I stop by and look at it. Not the easiest item to photograph...but this one came out pretty well.

A sad scene at sunset: how very symbolic of loss! l/f

That is very nicely taken.
Christopher McKenzie replied:
Thank you, Diane. I had almost given up for the day as things we not panning out like I had hoped until I saw this.
Dick Hudson
Nice image, Christopher. We used to play on these swings until Mom yelled or whistled us home, usually when the sun was just about gone. Then home for chicken or Mac and cheese. Well taken.
Christopher McKenzie replied:
Thanks for having a look, Dick.
Jeff Roney

Very profound piece, Christopher. A lot going on in here besides the sunset. Many depths evoked by this image with the broken swing set, etc. Gorgeous colors. Mother Nature, the greatest artist of all.
Christopher McKenzie replied:
Thanks for your enthusiasm, I'ina. It is appreciated. :)
Pamela Blizzard
I love this; The lighting is fabulous and great composition! l/f
Christopher McKenzie replied:
Thank you, Pamela.
