Description
Joe Roth's customized 1959 Chevy Impala graces the streets of the 2017 Goodguys Car Show in Des Moines, Iowa...some 58 years after it was constructed in 1961.
The car was purchased new in 1959 by Joe's mother and was originally a black car. After a front end collision in 1960 Joe took the car and began it's transformation into an award winning show car throughout the 1960's, complete with the Candy Cane tuck and roll interior that is highly reflective in the window glass and makes street driving somewhat dangerous.

This is for sure one sleek looking 59 Impala Christopher - as soon as I saw it I was immediately reminded of the 1950 Leo Lyons Ultra Modern Mercury. The Ultra Modern Merc had a nice large Dagmar on each lower front corner but I don't think they would really look right on this nice old 59 Chevy. Nice capture, excellent image ! ! ! !

I think it is great that these old projects are still being cared for and maintained. I think you are right about the bumper...although it looks amazing on Leo's custom.
