Description
This Ford GT was captured July 6th at the 2014 Goodguys Car Show in Des Moines, Iowa. Background images is from the 1966 1-2-3 win at Le Mans.
The Ford GT is an American mid-engine two-seater sports car that was produced by the Ford Motor Company in 2005 and 2006 model years.
The mid-mounted 5.4 L Modular V8 engine is all-aluminum with a Lysholm twin screw-type supercharger. Power output is 550 hp at 6500 rpm and generates 500 lbft of torque at 3750 rpm.
The designers drew inspiration from Ford's GT40 racing cars of the 1960s.
The Ford GT40 was a high performance sports car and winner of the 24 hours of Le Mans four times in a row, from 1966 to 1969 (in 1967 with a different body, though). It was built to win long-distance sports car races against Ferrari (who won at Le Mans six times in a row from 1960 to 1965). The GT40 GT-40P 1075 was the first car to win at Le Mans twice (in 1968 and 1969). The car was named the GT (for Grand Tourisme) with the 40 representing its overall height of 40 inches (measured at the windshield) as required by the rules. Large displacement Ford V8 engines (4.7 L and 7 L) were used.

Love this car so very much.
Christopher McKenzie replied:
Indeed. These were really something for that time period...and even now it would be a great car to have. I would have a hard time choosing a color, however.
