So true. We have another coming somewhat close to us next year and I hope to get some more images then.

Nice! Totality is fantastic! I captured my shots in Challis, ID. I would travel again to see another eclipse for sure!

Yes...quite an interesting event if a person is lucky enough to be near one with clear skies.

Artist's Description

The amazing Solar Corona as captured during the Total Solar Eclipse of August 21, 2017.
Captured in Holt Summit, Missouri at 13:16 Central Time (Just northeast of the capitol Jefferson City).
This location was chosen by me for it's proximity to the center line of the path of totality across Missouri while avoiding heavy clouds which were approaching fast and were blanketing much of the northwest portion of the state.

The corona is one of the most amazing natural features a person can witness with the naked eye.
Given the rarity of a total solar eclipse with the middle of it's path overhead and cloudless skies available these are potentially once in a lifetime captures!

I followed her by painting with Acrylics and drawing some myself as I went through my teenage years, and I also had a couple of inspiring art teachers in middle school. As an adult I was able to afford a camera and I transitioned to photography. I am based in the Midwest, in a suburb of Kansas City, and although I capture time with my camera primarily as a hobby I take it very seriously. Though most of my work comes from close to home I have also captured quite a few images in other parts of the US from my travels. There are artists, and then there are folks who have a keen eye for art and are able to...
