You are right...the 'romance' of these dangerous cars is undeniable...and rare to find in today's world.

Artist's Description

Not many things cooler than a front engine 'slingshot' dragster in my opinion. A couple of thousand horsepower right in the face of the driver of a purpose-built machine that is only good at one thing, which is getting as quick as it can straight down a quarter-mile.
These cars were at their best in the 1960's even though they were extremely dangerous as speeds in these machines were commonly around 200 miles per hour.
This example (and the nice old Chevy pick-up in the background) was captured at the 2015 H.A.M.B. Drags in Southwest Missouri.

As a child I received my love of art from my mother who I watched write poetry, paint with pastels and draw with pencils and charcoal. I followed her by painting with Acrylics and drawing some myself as I went through my teenage years, and I also had a couple of inspiring art teachers in middle school. As an adult I was able to afford a camera and I transitioned to photography. I am based in the Midwest, in a suburb of Kansas City, and although I capture time with my camera primarily as a hobby I take it very seriously. Though most of my work comes from close to home I have also captured quite a few images in other parts of the US from my travels.
